Frank Greenway MD

Dr. Greenway, M.D. is Professor, Medical Director and directs of the Outpatient Research Clinic at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Greenway and has boards in internal medicine and endocrinology, practiced internal medicine and endocrinology, created an obesity research clinic for the Harbor-UCLA endocrinology fellows and did the medical support for the Harbor-UCLA surgical obesity program. He did research from his practice in Marina del Rey, CA and taught at Harbor-UCLA for 20 years before coming to the Pennington as a Professor.

His interest is in developing new treatments for obesity including drugs, dietary herbal supplements, medical foods and devices. His laboratory focuses on identifying foods with pharmacologic properties to treat obesity and other chronic disease. Dr. Greenway has served as the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials sponsored by industry and by the NIH. He is a member of a number of professional societies including the American College of Physicians (fellow), The Obesity Society (fellow), The Obesity Treatment Foundation (President) and The Obesity Medicine Association (Fellow). In addition to publishing more than 250 articles, Dr. Greenway also holds several patents.
